In continuation of our series about Ro’s wife school I have decided to post another interview with one of her victims. This interview is from a woman who chose to remain anonymous.

How did you find out about Ro’s Wife School?

I noticed a friend of mine kept posting about “Wife School”…. I felt like I was in a bit of a relationship rut and thought, “Why not check it out?”

What prompted you to join?

After the emotional roller coaster with my child’s father I’d somewhat convinced myself that perhaps I was the problem. I felt that if I could change myself, I could change the trajectory of the relationship. While my significant other and I had begun a path to reconciliation, I wanted to equip myself with as many tools as possible to ensure we lasted this time.

How much money did you spend to join Ro’s Wife School?

$125.00.

How long were you enrolled in Ro’s Wife School?

Very briefly, maybe 3 months total. I couldn’t bring myself to fully commit.

How much money have you spent in total?

$125….I learned quickly lol.

Were you asked to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement?

No.

Did you gain anything from the experience?

I learned to value myself more and that while being married is still a desire, it isn’t my goal. My goal is to be the best ME and the rest would fall in place.

As a mother I do see the benefits of a 2 parent household but I believe being happy with whatever my relationship status is at the time is much more beneficial to my children. While I was seeking hope and positive relationship techniques, I was constantly being told I was wrong in so many ways – how I dressed, how I chose to wear my own hair, my career aspirations, even down to my voice! It was actually my boyfriend who chimed in and told me to stop. He laughed at the idea of me becoming some stay at home “Stepford wife” selling arts and crafts to sustain our family. He felt like being told what to wear and how to style my hair was ridiculous as well. Ultimately, having the conversation with him about why I considered the cult-like network brought us closer. 🙂

While enrolled were you allowed to ask questions about Ro’s Wife School?

Heck no! Everything is an instruction, or rather a demand in a sing-song voice or an emoji flower on the end… Kind of like when folks put “LOL” on a message/statement in an attempt to soften the blow. Any question came with an invitation of sorts for another session, class or online tutorial….for a fee of course. And, don’t you dare show even the slightest hint of disagreement online….prepare to be blocked and shunned!

Were you enrolled in classes in person or online?

A little of both….I mostly communicated with a mentee of Ro’s in person and over the phone and she would send me online content to view.

Is Ro the only teacher at her Wife School?

She seems to be the top of the pyramid scheme and has her crew of loyal followers (“Certified Wives”) doing the work for her. Oddly enough, most of them aren’t even married themselves! It was weird….

If you are no longer enrolled, why did you leave?

I left because I took off my rose tinted glasses! If I’m not going to a dentist with rotten teeth, why would I take advice on healthy relationships that lead to marriage from Single women?!?! I’m being told to lessen myself professionally from women who don’t make nearly as much as me….being told how I should run my home from women who live with family members….being told what to wear, how to wear my hair, how to speak….it became too much for me! I remember commenting on one of Nicole Michelle’s posts and after being blocked I contacted my mentor who seemed to agree with her. I was shocked! I didn’t feel uplifted and supported and began to question this journey.

I was online one night and found your page….2 hours later I’d read all of the posts about exposing Ro and I felt disgusted. That coupled with the fact that my boyfriend and I started looking at rings and discussing marriage AFTER I distanced myself from their movement. It was sort of an Aha Moment….I didn’t need a mentor to tear me down and change me. He loved me for me and we just had some kinks to work out.

Why do you want to speak about Ro’s school now?

I don’t like the idea of anyone being emotional prey….I sought out this group in a moment of vulnerability and from what I’ve observed, that’s how it starts for most of the women. And that’s sad! Instead of encouraging one another and being shown healthy examples of relationships, it seems to all be about changing yourself to be someone you’re not and not even benefiting from it! All of the financial gain seems to be directed to Ro…. No thanks!

Do you believe Ro’s Wife School is a cult?

I do….these folks (women and men alike!) seem to hang on her every word and will fight you tooth and nail to hold onto their false hope.

Have you reported Ro’s Wife School to any government agency? If so, which one(s) and why?

No, I just walked away. I felt that I’d already given it too much energy.

Is there anything else you would like us to know about Ro’s Wife School?

Keep doing what you’re doing! Exposing this scam is helping people see the light so to speak.

you have also been a victim of Ro’s wife school please share your story.
