“Rejection is a part of life” – Date Like A Woman. The truth is everyone…EVERYONE…gets rejected. No person is everyone’s cup of tea. There will be times when someone is not going to like you…and…they are not going to want to date you. When it comes to dating the options include putting yourself out there for the possibility of rejection. And, let’s be honest. No one likes being rejected. It hurts.

In a lot of ways the Internet and electronic courage have provided a way to somewhat soften the blow of rejection. No longer do you have to be face-to-face with the person who is rejecting you. Unanswered dms/texts provide an alternative to a person telling you to your face that they are not interested, a lot easier to swallow, sometimes.

However, could the fear of rejection itself be creating an unsatisfactory dating life? Could the fear of rejection cause you to only reach for the lowest hanging fruit, resulting in bad dating experiences? Think about it. If you are constantly fearing rejection, does that mean that you do not date the person you are truly attracted to because you don’t want them to reject you and simply go for those you know you have a better chance with? Why do you think your chances are better with them? Are they also just scared to be rejected? The truth is, those people who are less likely to reject you may also be not the best match for you. In other words, by fearing rejection and not going for who you want, you are settling for someone who is just there.

To have a better dating life you are going to have to learn that while rejection hurts, without risk there is no reward. “There is nothing bad about rejection. Even though it can hurt, rejection is part of life and many times when we are rejected the circumstances of the rejection end up in our favor.” –Date Like A Woman.

Stop being afraid of rejection; see it as a good thing. Plus, the more you are able to handle rejection the less likely it will deter you from what you really like. Just shake off that fear and get out there!
