Today is Indigenous Peoples Day. Today is a holiday that celebrates and honors indigenous American peoples and commemorates their histories and cultures. And in that honor, I share with you a photo of my great-grandmother (right) and one of her daughters, my grand-aunt (left).
While I am not sure which indigenous tribe my great-grandmother descended from, it was well-known in the family that we were “kin” to the indigenous tribes in the local area.
