Good Morning World!!
“Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured.” – Mark Twain
Being able to emotionally regulate oneself is a powerful tool. When you are faced with someone trying to harm you not allowing your anger to control your actions means you’re less likely to harm yourself. When you are not able to emotionally regulate yourself you will lose control of your behavior. People who can’t control their anger often hurt themselves and the ones they love.
It’s also important to remember that anger is an emotion that’s triggered by pain. If you’re angry it’s important to understand what it is that you feel is hurting you. Once you confront your pain you’re less likely to get angry.
The more you understand yourself and your emotions the less likely you will feel hurt by other’s actions. And less pain means less anger. And the less anger you have the less likely you’ll cause harm to yourself.
