Good Morning World!!
“Life is about change, sometimes you just have to roll with the punches.” – Caroline Manzo
On Monday, my mom fell and broke both her wrist and knee. The doctor says it will be about 12 weeks before she can put full weight on her leg again. Our trip, Three Generations, One Journey, is just 14 weeks away and right now, I honestly don’t know what to do. I’m still processing everything.
At the moment, my mom can’t walk or care for herself and is in a 24-hour care facility. While I’m grateful she’s somewhere safe with access to constant care and physical therapy, I have to acknowledge that our lives have shifted completely, our daily schedules, routines, and way of life have all changed overnight. And yes, our trip may be on hold. At the same time, life keeps moving, my daughter and I still have school, work, and responsibilities that don’t pause.
For now, I’m choosing to roll with the punches and hope for the best. I’m not making any decisions about our travel plans just yet. I’d like to give it at least a month to see how my mom progresses in therapy before deciding if we’ll move the trip. It’s a lot to think about, but I’m doing my best to stay positive and keep moving forward.
Most importantly my mom is stable and alive, and that’s what matters most. I’m so grateful for all of your kind words during this time. They mean more than you know. If you’d like to help further, please share our posts and videos about Three Generations, One Journey. This trip will happen one day, even if it’s delayed and we still hope to gain sponsorship. In particular, we would love to partner with Pattern Beauty, so please continue tagging and sharing to help us get their attention.
I know today’s “word of the day” is longer than usual, but it’s been an overwhelming few days with so much to share. If anything, I want to leave you with this: keep going, even when life throws you off track. I know I will be.
Happy Wednesday!
