Good Morning World!!

“More good women have been lost to marriage than to war, famine, disease and disaster. You have talent, darling. Don’t squander it.” – Cruella de Vil

As we brace ourselves for what could be another challenging four years, it’s been inspiring to see more and more women embracing what they’re calling their “villain era.” I feel like I entered mine last year, and if you ask me, it’s not only timely but absolutely essential. For too long, women, especially Black women, have been encouraged to give endlessly, to care unconditionally, and to be selfless, even when the world looks down on us and uses us without a second thought. But the tides are shifting, and it’s past time for us to channel our power, our resources, and our ambition solely into ourselves. No more pouring from an empty cup or waiting for validation that’s never coming.

In a society that often views us with suspicion or dismisses us entirely, stepping into our power unapologetically feels almost revolutionary. They’ve called us “difficult,” “intimidating,” or “selfish” for ages, so let them. If someone insists on casting you as the villain in their story, don’t waste time trying to change their minds. Instead, let them feel the full force of your greatness. Stand tall, unbothered, and let your ambition and success speak louder than any words they could throw at you.

There’s no shame in holding tight to your dreams, protecting your peace, and reserving your energy for the things and people who truly matter. If that makes us the “villains,” then so be it, may we be the kind of villains who are unstoppable, who rise above, and who show the world exactly who we are meant to be.

Happy Tuesday!
