Good Morning World!!

“At present, our country needs women’s idealism and determination, perhaps more in politics than anywhere else.” – Shirley Chisholm

I write these words not yet knowing the outcome of the election, but hoping deeply that today we wake up to a world where a Black Woman will be the new President of the United States. I dream of a new era where women’s leadership is not just accepted but celebrated, where resilience, strength, and vision in women are acknowledged as the vital forces they are. I hope for a country where respect for diverse voices is the norm and not the exception and where we truly value the principles of justice and equality. I long to feel a renewed pride in being an American, knowing we are all moving toward a more inclusive and hopeful future together.

I wake up today to see that, once again, America has chosen to stand by racism and misogyny. It would be dishonest to say I’m surprised. This country, built on the foundations of racial injustice, has always resisted meaningful change. Let’s be clear: while some will try to place blame on Black men or Latinos for this outcome, the truth is undeniable—this one falls on white America. Many white Americans do not want true equality and justice; they want to keep the systems of privilege that protect them.

But despite this painful truth, I urge you not to lose hope. Remember that, even in the face of centuries of oppression, Black people have never ceased to strive, to build, and to thrive. Black women, in particular, have been at the forefront of progress, defying obstacles and breaking boundaries.

So keep going, ladies. Our resilience is unmatched. We’ve come this far, and we’re not stopping now. Persevere, hold your heads high, and let’s continue to show the world the strength, grace, and power that defines us.

We’ve got this.
