Good Morning World!!
Today would have been my father’s 80th birthday. He passed away at 59, never getting the chance to grow old. I often wonder what kind of elder he would have been, since life didn’t give him that chance. Losing a parent while they’re still young changes how you see aging, it reminds you that growing older truly is a blessing.
Yes, the years bring loss, but they also bring moments my dad never got to experience, like meeting his granddaughter. She reminds me of him often, especially when she puts on her glasses or laughs at the same movie scenes he loved. I know if he were here, he’d be one of her biggest cheerleaders.
It’s been over two decades since he passed, and I still have those sad moments where the missing feels heavy. But I also hold onto the fun, loving memories we shared, which makes it all bittersweet. So here’s to my dad on what would have been his 80th birthday. Happy Birthday, Dad, I wish you were here. ❤️
Happy Monday to All of You!
