Good Morning World!!
“A great soul serves everyone all the time. A great soul never dies. It brings us together again and again.” – Maya Angelou
Grief is such a complicated emotion. Losing my friend Chris Taliaferro has been incredibly hard, and yet in the middle of that loss, I’m watching so many people come together to celebrate his light, his brilliance, and the impact he had on all of us. I know he wouldn’t want us to be weighed down in sadness, but my heart is still heavy.
His passing has me feeling two things at once: deeply sad and strangely motivated. It’s like I don’t want to let him down, even as part of me wants to curl up and cry. But giving up isn’t an option. So instead, I’m choosing to let his memory push me forward, to be better, to be braver, to be great. Because he was great, and he brought joy to so many people.
If you’re grieving too, let your grief fuel you. Let it move you toward the kind of life your person would have wanted you to live.
Happy Tuesday!
~ Kai
