By the time this posts, I’ll be on the road with my daughter, heading out to celebrate her upcoming birthday. And while today is Independence Day, it’s hard to ignore that true freedom is under attack in this country. For me and my family, it’s all about balance, staying aware of what’s happening in the world while fiercely protecting our space as one of love and safety.
Yes, I’m angry at the criminal Republicans working to dismantle our rights and harm our communities. But I refuse to let that anger steal our joy. Sometimes, resistance looks exactly like choosing joy, laughter, and love in the face of everything. And that’s exactly what we’re going to do: celebrate and create joy, no matter what.
