Good Morning World!!
“Defining myself, as opposed to being defined by others, is one of the most difficult challenges I face.” – Carol Moseley-Braun
As a Black woman, I’ve noticed there’s a constant effort by others to police our words, our actions, and even our presence, as if we don’t have the right to exist as our full, authentic selves. What’s fascinating, though, is that so many of us are pushing back against those attempts to define or diminish us.
Black women are in a constant fight to be seen and heard, yet even in the midst of that struggle, we continue to shine, creating powerful spaces, leading change, and proving just how valuable we are.
So here’s to all the Black women who keep shining, even when the world tries to silence us. You are extraordinary.
