Yesterday, I had the delicious pleasure of attending the Check, Please! Taste and Sip 2025, and let me tell you, my taste buds are still doing a happy dance. I indulged in so many amazing bites that I didn’t even get photos of everything I tried (a true sign of a good time, right?). But if you see it in these pics, trust that I devoured it.
The event itself was a foodie paradise, everything from savory bites to decadent desserts, with options for every palate including vegan dishes. And let’s not forget the wine. I didn’t snap any pics of my wine tastings, but believe me, my glass was never empty.
Now for the real talk: while the variety and flavors were top-tier, the logistics of eating on the go? Not so much. Balancing a plate and a wine glass with nowhere to set things down was a challenge. Shout-out to the brilliant woman I met who brought her own plate with a built-in wine glass holder, genius. I’m absolutely stealing that idea for next time.
Also, seating was scarce, so it was very much a standing-and-mingling type of affair. But honestly, the only real downside? You can’t try it all. Trust me, I gave it my best shot, but with that many options, it’s an impossible mission.
Will I go again? Without a doubt. But next time, I’m coming prepared, with comfy shoes, a hands-free plate, and definitely my stretchy eating pants.
