In my book “Date Like A Woman” I talk to women about the “princess” fallacy, where society has conditioned women since childhood to believe that there’s one guy out there who is like a “prince” or “knight in shining armor” who will come to sweep a woman off of her feet and “live happily ever after.” But did you know men have been conditioned since childhood to believe in fairytales about love too?
Movies like Transformers, Clerks 2, She’s Out Of My League, and Hitch all have something in common, do you know what it is? The unattractive guy gets the “hot” girl. This is a fairytale too but men believe this just as hard as women believe in being a princess. Men believe that there is no woman who isn’t accessible to them. This is why certain men who should never approach women feel so comfortable doing so. They are caught up in a fairytale.
