“The Wedding Date”

This past weekend a man that I have been seeing asked me to be his date to his brother’s wedding. Yes, wedding dates are a real thing. We have not been dating very long so to be asked to a family wedding is kind of a BIG deal, and this invitation I did not take lightly. (By the way, you ladies who have read my book know that being asked on a wedding date is definitely a signal that a man sees more in you than just a fling. So, if you are asked on a wedding date only go if you see potential in him too)!

The wedding was out-of-state. Admittedly, I was nervous about going but also excited. I think anytime you date someone there is always curiosity about their family. You can sometimes meet someone’s family and it will change your whole perception of that person. In this case, meeting his family actually enhanced how I perceived him.

Very kind and genuine people greeted me at the wedding. I was amused because it was clear that my date did not normally bring women around his family. While everyone was filled with smiles and warmth they did have their fun with us. As it turned out, the table directory had my name listed, however, the table setting had the name “Mrs. ____ ____.” It was funny to have to explain to the people at our table that I was not in fact my date’s “Mrs.” It was also funny to see my date slightly uncomfortable but amused as well.

The thing about wedding dates is that they can be a lot of fun, and, of course, very romantic. After all, you are at an event to celebrate love. People are filled with joy. Children are gleefully running around. There is delicious food and drinks and dancing. It is actually one of the best dating experiences that one can have. It is also a place where in a short period of time you can find out so much more about your date’s background and childhood.

I definitely give this wedding date an A+. I laughed and celebrated with wonderful people, ate and drank well, danced the night away, and definitely got to know my date even better…which is always a plus!

Until next time…

Kai
