Who knew my child would be the one to inspire me to be my best self? Being a mom forced me to think about what was truly important in life. Becoming her mom also made me recognize that if I accepted less for myself I would be teaching her to do the same. At some point when she was a toddler I realized I never wanted her to grow up to be a woman who thought she didn’t matter and that her happiness wasn’t important. That’s when I started making changes in my life. My journey hasn’t been easy but I will say I am proud of the progress I have made in her lifetime. I am also proud to say I am not a mom who is teaching my daughter to accept less than what she deserves.
