Not many women can say they are marrying an actual Prince. Meghan Markle can! How did she do it? Let’s look at six ways Meghan Dated Like A Woman before and during her courtship with Prince Harry:
1. She put her needs first when it came to her past marriage.

Meghan’s first marriage encountered trouble when she landed the role on Suits which taped in Toronto away from LA where she and her husband lived. Often women are pressured to give up their careers for their marriages and family. Meghan didn’t. She considered her own needs despite having to end her marriage. Meghan knew she wouldn’t be happy if she gave up her career. So she gave up her marriage.
2. She didn’t let being a divorcee define who she is and stop her from dating again.
“Being single is not a disease or debilitation. Being single is just fine.” – DLAW
Sexism has created a space where a woman is considered “damaged goods” if she is divorced or is a single parent. Meghan did not let society define who she was. She decided who she was for herself. What others thought did not stop her from getting back out into the dating world. She was not afraid to let go of her marriage and be single.
3. She was open to meeting someone new.
“Just be open. Remember, no expectations.” – DLAW
Meghan met Prince Harry on a blind date. Most women are willing to date online (bad idea!) but are squeamish about being set up on blind dates. Meghan was open to it. She took the risk of meeting a stranger. She was open to a new experience and had no expectations about how it would go. She ended up meeting a prince. (And, a few weeks later he took her camping. That’s a date many women would say no to but she was open!)
4. She took the time to get to know Prince Harry.
“Dating is taking time to get to know someone.” – DLAW
Before calling it a relationship, Meghan actually dated Prince Harry, by taking the time to get to know him. They spent their time learning about each other. That’s what dating is all about. Getting to know each other.
5. She dated in her league.
Meghan was able to relate to being in the spotlight because of her career as an actress. That was something that Prince Harry appreciated. This similarity in experiences made it easier for each to understand the other, making it much easier to date. An added plus is Meghan’s independent income, reportedly $50,000 per episode from Suits; $450K per year.
6. She kept her dating life off of social media.
Meghan quietly dated Prince Harry for four months before their relationship was leaked to the press. During that time she posted absolutely no pictures of them together on social media. Once their dating was leaked to the media, instead of posting pictures of her and Prince Harry, she posted a picture of two bananas spooning.
