Yesterday, my attention was brought to this story, “A DC Guy Planned Six Dates in a Single Night—and All the Women Found Out“. Before even reading the story I knew there was a dating app involved.
If you have read my book, Date Like A Woman, you already know that I do not recommend online dating for women. My reasons against it are discussed in depth there, but the bottom line is this, online dating makes dating too easy for men.
That’s right. Online dating makes dating too easy for men. It is more than easy. There is no effort involved. They don’t have to do anything but scroll through some pictures, click a few buttons, and… Voila!…A date! Or, in this case six!
I see women all the time complaining about their bad dating experiences and have noticed that one of the main reasons their experiences have been so bad is because they have used dating apps to get dates.
Yes, we have all heard of the people who found love online. However, that is the exception and not the rule. The rule is, there are a lot of awful men online happily enjoying their dating lives, because of the plentiful amount of women willing to go on dates with them because they found them on an app. These same women would not give these men the time of day if they met them in person.
It is important to understand that the online dating industry is worth $2 billion. The industry is more focused on making money than it is on providing quality dating experiences. It’s a numbers game. The more people who use online dating apps, the more money they make. There is no quality control.
Stop wasting your time on these apps and start enjoying your dating life. If a man cannot ask you out in person, he is not worth your time.

So what exactly makes online dating for men “too easy” compared to the experience for women? Can’t women do the same exact thing by downloading a dating app and easily picking from droves of men to go on dates with?
Well Greg since you asked, in general it is usually men who ask women out. Asking a woman out in person takes much more effort than clicking a button on a screen or sending an electronic message.
Men are much more likely to “ask” women out on dating apps because there are far more accessible women. Plus, electronic courage makes asking out a stranger through a computer screen much easier.
Can women do the same thing? Sure, but that’s not usually how it goes. Men are, in general, still doing the asking.
